Run by two Dutch artists, Villa Carton is a Netherlands-based company that creates toys designed to promote creativity, education and imaginative play. The company doesn't have a vast range of products, but the Villa Carton castle shown in the image above is very representative of what the company is trying to acheive.
The Villa Carton castle is essentially a 'blank canvas' onto which children can paint or draw whatever picture, pattern or decoration they like. Quite simply, it's a cardboard playhouse that can be coloured as per ones imagination! The castle can be constructed and then dismantled very easily - and the Villa Carton website contains some useful 'tips and tricks' for getting the most out of the toy.
Other Villa Carton toys include a dolls house and a rocking chair - both of which have been created using the same principle as the castle. Also available, is a range of children's costumes that are made from cotton and can be decorated in any style using water-based felt tips.
