Released in early 2010 and distributed by Flair, Disney Dough is a modelling product similar to Plasticine that is available across many of Disney's biggest licenses. Aimed primarily at the toddler and preschool market, popular characters like those from Toy Story, Cars or Handy Manny all receive the Disney Dough treatment - and the girls are not forgotten with characters such as Disney Princess.
The Disney Dough kits come with all the usual tools that you would expect from a modelling dough - including cutters, stamps and extruders - and the idea is that kids can experiment with the tactile material to re-create models of their favourite Disney characters. A variety of sets at different price points means that everyone can join in the Disney Dough fun, whether it’s a simple pack containing two 2oz tubs of dough with simple cutters, or a large set with all the extra tools and shapes required to complete your favourite character.
Toy Shop UK thinks that the Toy Story Disney Dough sets will be some of the most popular, and although they are part of a competitive craft market (one that includes the popular Moon Dough) the Disney stamp of approval will make them a sure fire winner.
The big question is whether it will be able to attract the same kind of popular appeal as Plasticine. Have you used Disney Dough? Tell us what you think of it below.
