Melissa and Doug are renown for their excellent collection of jigsaw puzzles which are carefully designed to ensure that they meet the needs of a wide variety of ages and abilities. In bright colours and high quality, sturdy materials, they are long lasting toys with classic designs which stand the test of time.

The Large Knob Geometric Shape Puzzle is an excellent example of their jigsaws which are designed for older babies and toddlers. Focusing on the emergent skills of young children, the puzzle is a simple but visually appealing game of hide and seek or look and see, encouraging the child to explore the concept of hidden pictures, matching similar colours and shapes and fitting pieces into the correct places.

Each puzzle piece is colour coded to match the similar piece beneath. There is a range of simple, basic shapes illustrated, including square, triangle and circle but also pentagon, diamond and octagon. 8 shapes and primary, secondary and tertiary colours are used and the shape pieces also have the name written on to the piece, ensuring that as a child gets older, they will have a head start in recognising the words.

The large pegs make the pieces easy to grasp and manipulate and as well as suiting young children, they are also ideal for special needs environments.
