Launched in January 2011, LEGO Ninjago was one of the toy company's biggest launches ever. Using the tagline of Masters of Spinjitzu, the Ninjago sets feature a spinner game with a series of add-on figures and a range of classic building sets that also incorporate elements of the spinners.
LEGO's Ninjago sets are not only appealing to children from ages 6 to 14, but also to the armies of fans who collect the various series of LEGO Minifigures. The Ninja theme runs through all of the sets and appeals particularly to boy’s imaginations.
The minifigures are brought to life with fast spinning movement on specially designed bases, as well as featuring new weapons and accessories. The game element is provided by battle cards and character cards that are included in each pack.
Set no.2257 is known as the Spinjitzu Starter Set. This comprises of the actual Spinjitzu Arena, two spinning bases, a skeleton and ninja characters, six different weapons plus the cards and other accessories. This is a great introductory set to get the game going!

The add-on LEGO Ninjago spinning character sets are:
2111 - Kai, 2112 - Cole, 2113 - Zane, 2114 – Chopov, 2115 – Bonezai, and 2116 – Krazi, 2170 – ColeDX, 2171 – ZaneDX, 2172 – Nya, 2173 – Nuckal.
As if that wasn’t enough excitement, Ninjago building sets feature some awesome buildings, vehicles and characters. These include:
• Set 2505 is the mighty Garmadon’s Castle which features a whole new selection of Lego elements. Kids can’t wait to get their hands on one of these and start building.
• Set 2504 Spinjitzu Dojo - another Ninjago base.
• Set 2263 Skull Dragster - an awesome tracked vehicle with a skeleton driver.
• Set 2260 Ice Dragon - a scary looking six winged beast that spits ice balls!
• Set 2259 Skull Motorbike - a smaller back up vehicle to the dragster.
• Set 2258 Ninja Ambush - a set with working features.
• Set 2516 Ninja Training Depot - includes a bow and arrow with target.
Finally, all LEGO game fans will be thrilled to know that the Ninjago theme is carried over into the Ninjago Board Game. Featuring a special dice, minifigure characters and plenty of LEGO building elements, this new set adds to the whole excitement that surround the LEGO Ninjago series.
In 2012 the Ninjago theme was continued with the launch of more exciting Ninjago building sets and spinners. Showcase set 2057 features the amazing Fire Temple complete with the awesome flame spitting Fire Dragon. Other sets include 9446 Destiny Bounty ship and 9440 Venomari Shrine complete with two mini snakes!
