Mandeville – named after the famous Buckinghamshire hospital – is the Paralympic mascot that will be one of the most recognised characters in the UK by the time the London 2012 Games begin. Toy company Golden Bear are making a whole series of Mandeville toys (and his buddy Wenlock) based on the digital character.
LOCOG - the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games only grant manufacturing licenses to companies that agree to a sustained programme of reducing their carbon footprint by reducing packaging and using more materials from recycled sources. Golden Bear are grasping this opportunity to make their company far 'greener' in the future.
Mandeville soft toy stands about 30 cm tall and wears a pink friendship bracelet on his wrist. With his 'M' logo stitched onto his forehead he's instantly recognisable. Made from a sponge clean polyester surface, Mandeveille soft toys are soft and warm to the touch.
Both mascots will get huge TV and press coverage leading up to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and we’re sure to see hundreds of different Mandeville soft toys as well as metal and plastic models. Whilst Mandeville is a rather strange looking character at first sight, Toy Shop UK is sure that once people get to see him more often, Mandeville soft toys by Golden Bear will sell in their millions.
