The hugely popular video game, Need For Speed, has been something of a success story for EA Games. For many years it has been at the forefront of contemporary automotive culture and has sold more than 100 million copies worldwide. It's no great surprise therefore, that toy manufacturers have been clamouring to get a piece of the action… And at the 2011 American International Toy Fair, Mega Brands proudly showcased their Need for Speed construction toys which are closely based on the game.
With their Need for Speed construction toy range, Mega Brands have combined the engaging, immersive content of the video game with the traditional play of constructing vehicles. They already knew this was possible having released a range of Halo toys in 2010 which were based on the popular science fiction video game franchise.
The Need For Speed Authentic Garage is constructed from over 200 parts which includes an Audi R8 to build as well! The kit includes various customisable parts and creates a showroom worthy of such exotic machinery as well as a choice of customisable wall decorations.

Need for Speed car kits contain some of the most iconic sports cars in world. This includes the Audi R8, Porsche GT3 RS and Nissan GT-R. Alongside their accompanying playsets, these vehicles provide endless possibilities to build, race and customize. The 1/14th scale Porsche kit contains no less than 570 parts many of which are specifically moulded for this model. Kids really can create an awesome replica model of the car they race in the game.
Smaller sets include the Need For Speed Wheel Launcher which includes a car complete with a ramp for fast take offs. 55 piece Build and Customize car assortment includes iconic vehicles like the McLaren MP4-12C or Porsche GT3 RS and come complete with special parts like wheels, spoilers and bumper sets.

Smartphone users can take advantage of the "Quick Response" technology that Mega Brands have put on all the packaging of all Need for Speed toys. This enables kids to scan the special code with their smartphone and instantly find out extra information about the product including videos, images and instructions.
As well as being targeted towards fans of the video game and construction toy enthusiasts, there's also a lively collectors market for the Need For Speed toys.
