Starplayer is a football-based board game produced by Inspired Games, designed to tie in perfectly with the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. This unique and innovative game is said to offer "all the excitement of a football season in a board game" and is certain to be a hit among footie fans of all ages.
Each player gets to try their skills as the owner of a major football club and has the ultimate goal of winning the Cup Final. Starplayer is undoubtedly a pretty eventful game - but young football fans are sure to pick up the rules in no time. There is even a short (approximately 45-minutes) version of the game for those that are a bit strapped for time.
Devised by the CEO of Inspired Games, Christopher Jones, Starplayer is designed to be played by children aged eight years and up. We think it's great to see football return to the traditional board game format, especially since most of the latest offerings have been console-based. Other football games (most famously, Subbuteo) continue to prove popular among fans of the beautiful game - and undoubtedly the timing of Starplayer's release is spot on as the World Cup always inspires much love for the sport.

I bought Starplayer at the UK GamesExpo and have played it twice with three mates. It's a fantastic footie board game. The 'cup games' to get to the final and penalty shoot outs were great fun, although the short game was good too.

My son aged 9 loves football but my wife normally hates football! I had a really great game with Starplayer - my wife won and wanted to play again! the quality is brilliant, the money, drawings, football dice are great to use and make the game very enjoyable. My son loved it and it got him off the PC!
