Introduction
The InnoTab - first released at the end of 2011 - is a phenomenal invention that has been designed and produced by the distinguished electronic toy maker, VTech. With electronic tablets being in high demand by adult consumers, it didn’t take VTech long to develop the InnoTab which appeals to children aged between 4 and 9 years old.

Initially called "InnoPad", VTech’s InnoTab is packed full of exceptional features, many of which are also found on its more expensive adult counterpart. For a start it features a real 5-inch touch screen with crystal-clear display. It also comes with many integrated applications such as an MP3 player, calendar, address book, calculator, notepad and clock.

InnoTab 2 Release
Never a company to rest on their laurels for long, Vtech's constant product enhancement programme sees the launch of Innopad 2 in summer 2012.

A new 1.3 mega pixel camera has been built in to the toy which also features a rotating 'self portrait' lens. This extra capability means that kids can now even photograph themselves and use the editing software to enhance and even add special effects. They can even use the image in a variety of games, a feature previously seen on the Kidizoom Camera. In addition, InnoTab 2 also has been enhanced with the addition of a built in microphone - useful for recording videos as well as extended gameplay.

The InnoTab 2's casing is strong enough to withstand the odd knock and the rounded corners ensure that little hands can keep a firm grasp on it. The rotating portrait-to-landscape screen works well and the screen retains good visibility even at sharp viewing angles.

Software that comes with the InnoTab 2 includes an art studio, an e-book reader and in-built learning games. Better still, this VTech product is also compatible with the Kidizoom 3D and Kidizoom Twist digital cameras so kids can download their images and videos and enlarge them onto the InnoTab's brilliant 5-inch screen. It's no wonder that the InnoTab has been hailed an "iPad for kids"!

An in-built slot allows VTech InnoTab software cartridges to be plugged into the InnoTab 2 for instant reading of e-books, creative activities and learning games. Games and activities include Toy Story, Cars 2, Disney Princess, Scooby-Doo and many others such as Jake and The Neverland Pirates.

An SD memory card slot allows for memory expansion, and with USB connection to a Mac or a PC computer kids can download much more from VTech’s Learning Lodge Navigator. The Hello Kitty cartridge is designed for 4 - 6 year olds and lets kids explore the world of Kitty and her friends. It also includes a selection of stories, games and activities that encourages learning about words, shapes and colours.
