Splodge Publishing is a Lambourn-based company that produces interactive products to help educate and inspire children. The products are designed to teach young people about issues which will help them grow into happy, well-rounded adults.

Subjects covered by this company's range of products include self-awareness, the environment, spirit, community and responsibility. Slodge Publishing sources, wherever possible, products that are either Fair Trade, organic, natural or sustainable.

Splodge Publishing's first product, The Spark, contains a wonderful interactive story which comes with five earthy gifts (a rainstick, a feather, a postcard, a liquorice root and a lavender bag) to promote a sensory and informative experience for young minds. This adventure story explores issues of planetary awareness, self expression, happiness and community. It can be a fun and enlightening read in the home and a wonderful way to teach children.

Just read the rhyming poem to your children and follow the instructions within the text that shows them how and when to use the included gifts . When it’s time to explore your sense of hearing; listen with your ears to the rainstick, when it’s time to explore your sense of smell; sniff the delightful lavender bag, when it’s time to explore your sense of taste; let the liquorice root tingle your taste buds!

Children enjoy the story both in an imaginative and physical way which gives real meaning to the elements of the story. There is also a 'Read-Along CD' with background music by the Kaya Percussion Ensemble - perfect for when parents are feeling a bit tired!
