Based in South Molton in North Devon and trading online, Bramblings Toys (formally Bright Start Toys) focuses on the sale of ethically-produced, Fair Trade toys that have been sourced from non-toxic, natural and sustainable materials.

The products stocked by this South Molton toy shop include Fair Trade wooden toys that come from replenishable wood sources. These toys are then treated with natural dyes and resins (such as tumeric or lac) to create an authentic, earthy look. This does of course, mean that some colour differences may be apparent, but this is all part of the charm of toys that have not been produced using a more standardised, industrial process.

This company sells some of the all-time classic wooden toys - including spinning tops, xylophones, pop-guns and stackers. Alongside these products however, shoppers will discover some terrific soft toys that have also been handmade by Fair Trade producers. These items are created from ethically-sourced and eco-friendly cotton fabrics; and because these soft toys do not have poppers or buttons, they are suitable for children of all ages. Although Bramblings Toys currently only sells a very limited number of soft toys, the Alice in Wonderland Rag Doll and Ellie the Elephant are particular favourites.

All toys sold by Bramblings Toys are rigorously safety-tested to ensure that they conform to CE-standards. Furthermore, recycled packing is use wherever possible to ensure that your purchase causes minimal impact on the environment.
