The Enchanted Tree is an ethical toy shop that specialises in eco-friendly, organic, sustainable and recycled toys and books. Products are sourced from both Fair Trade and local UK producers. Situated in the village of Weyhill in Hampshire, it is the only shop of its kind in the local area.
The owners are not keen on selling mass produced products which come from large companies or manufacturers, and so they actively look for smaller producers, manufacturers and family based businesses, who can supply ranges of products that are not generally available in supermarkets. This policy enables them to offer their customers a different selection of products to choose from. This family-run shop trades with the aim of offering its customers, reasonably priced, eco-friendly products, which until more recent times, was a difficult combination to find in a local retail shop.
Popular suppliers are Lanka Kade and John Crane, as well as Creations in Wood and the terrific range of Barefoot Books. Having set up with "green" principles in mind, The Enchanted Tree not only sells products that fit with this ethos, but also conducts its working practices with the same core values.
