Although Hastings is perhaps most famous for being connected with the Norman Conquest, it has recently set out to become a ‘’modern European town’’ that attracts business and enterprise as well as tourists.
Priory Meadow is the town's main shopping centre, with numerous well-known stores such as Top Shop, Marks & Spencer and Next. In terms of toy shops, Hastings has a couple of big-name shops such as Mothercare, The Early Learning Centre and Game.
