About Cariad Toys

Cariad is a family-run toy shop in the heart of Brecon, just on the northern edge of the Brecon Beacons. They sell a range of traditional and contemporary toys, games and gifts for children of all ages. Their focus is on selling quality toys at competitive prices and providing excellent customer service.

Known locally as ‘the wooden toy shop’ they stock a wide selection of wooden toys from makers including Pintoy, Plan, John Crane, Le Toy Van and Orange Tree Toys, as well as ‘Creations in Wood’ by Colin Carlson, heirloom toys made from Welsh hardwood.

Traditional toys are back in fashion. From old fashioned tin toys like humming tops and tea sets, pocket money toys such as yo-yos and kaleidoscopes to traditional rocking horses and pedal cars. Come and take a trip down memory lane!

For something more contemporary there’s a lot to choose from. Award winning Wheelybugs are one of the bestsellers, and British made Skipper yachts are guaranteed to sail.

Cariad Toys also have a big selection of musical instruments, from castanets to baby pianos. For something to do in the wet weather there’s a great choice of games and jigsaws, or why not get creative with a kit from ‘The Little Experience’. For new arrivals there are lots of wooden baby toys as well as rattles from the award winning TOLO range. They also stock Moulin Roty soft toys and Shoo Shoo baby shoes.
