Located to the West of London, Slough is well situated near the heart of the UK transport and communications network.
The town is very near the M40, M4 and M25, as well as having a fast rail link to central London. Although the common perception of Slough is that of an industrial town, it actually has many open, green places and some very historic buildings.
In 1925 Slough was the world’s first town to create an “Industrial Estate”, an area that is now seen in every part of the country. Several outlying villages such as Cippenham are now suburbs of Slough, and currently there is a highly ambitious, multimillion pound plan for the redevelopment of Slough's Town Centre. It will contain mixed use multi function buildings to create a superb area for cultural, media and IT industries.
