As the UK's "second city", Birmingham has a choice of toy shops that cater for all age ranges and budgets. The areas recent rejuvination project has been hugely positive for Birmingham city centre in terms of architecture and entertainment. However, it's sad to see that retailers like Woolworths, LEGO, Toys R Us and Hamleys have all closed their doors in recent years.
The popular Bullring shopping centre is home to several 'big-name' toy stores such as The Entertainer, the Early Leaning Centre and Build-A-Bear Workshop, although Birmingham's massive catchment area (that spreads across the Midlands encompassing Wolverhampton, Coventry, Solihul and the Black Country) also means that small, independent and niche toy shops can thrive too.
Small, independent Birmingham toy shops include Toy Revolution (a specialist retailer that focuses on selling TV and film related toys) and Roys Hobbies & Toys, a friendly shop in Rubery that provides a helpful service and a good selection of toys and games from brands like Lego, Playmobil and Barbie.
