Who can imagine a world without soft, cuddly toys!? The traditional idea of an animal to cuddle was the teddy bear, which has been produced in thousands of versions for over a century. Some of the early versions were far from cuddly – the outer skin was rough and the mainly straw stuffing was not very soft.
Now however, cuddly toys have taken on a new dimension! Modern man-made materials of fillings and skins are so soft and warm, that they are sold in their millions around the world. There cannot be a child who goes to bed at night without cuddling their favourite animal for love and reassurance when the lights go out!
