The amazing Djeco Art and Painting Kits combine simplicity with a genuine learning experience, an opportunity to try out techniques, styles and new materials within a structured art lesson and with projects that combine a stretching exercise with an achievable goal.

The Abstract Art Workshop Set explores the use of colour, shapes and various techniques such as blending, shading and colour mixing using the innovative Oil Pastel Gel Pens included in the set. These Gel Pens are a convenient way to use an otherwise potentially messy on the fingers art medium, containing the pastel inside a wind up "lipstick style" cover. The pens make wonderful colours and can be used in a variety of ways; they should long outlast the kit projects, leaving you with enough to make and create your own pictures. Once applied to the paper, they dry almost instantly and so are easy for even fairly young children to use.

The art work in the kit is based on the style of Paul Klee and explores 3D shapes and the use of colour and shade to create depth. There are 4 projects to complete and 12 coloured pastels plus a booklet full of tips and instructions. This ring bound, full colour booklet is easy to use and has step by step instructions, tips on colour creation and opens to lie flat, making it easy to use and follow.

The Abstract Art kit is contained in a sturdy box with lift up lid and elastic to secure it, meaning that projects can be easily and safely stored between sessions. The kit is aimed at age 10-15, depending on artist skill and experience. Not suitable for under 36 months.
