Screature Description
As one of the ultimate companions for little boys, Screature made by Mattel comes with ferocious movements and sounds and even uses an infrared sensor to detect his prey. Screature has even been known to eat hamsters for breakfast... not that he will be able to get his hands on many of them this year!
Boys can learn to tame their prehistoric pal, and Screature will respond loyally to interaction and petting. If you touch him in the wrong place however, he won’t hesitate to attack with his nasty venom water spray! Kids can set him to guard mode and Screature will take care of all their stuff. Little sisters need to be aware... his bite is worse than his roar!
Screature is suitable for children aged 6+ and fans of this pet may also like Riptiles who is the third dinosaur in Mattel's Prehistoric Pets collection to be released.

Never squirted wter

From day one Screature let us down. A very unhappy 8 year old got it from Santa and it never once squirted water.

This worked fine for one day and that was it. Now Screature won't squirt water and doesn't respond to any movement or touching of the sensors. In fact it just sits there and snores every 10 seconds or so! For £35 don't risk it - buy something else.
Unreliable

Very disappointed. It's definitely ON (i.e. not demo mode) but the range of actions are much less than expected. I've never managed to get it to squirt! Sensors appear unreliable as they don't always do anything. Very frustrating - my son was in tears thinking he'd broken it.
Common fault?

My son loves this toy, but the thing stopped squirting water by the end of the day. Looks like a common fault with it :(

Despite its sturdy feel, I'm not convinced this toy is very well built. The squirting water worked nicely to start with but stopped within a couple of days. Judging by some other reviews I've read, this sounds like a common issue :(

This toy seems a bit creepy to me but my 5 year old was adamant that he wanted one and he just loves it. Other reviews I've read about Screature said how the water squirting feature doesn't work. Well ours does, although it needs constant refilling as the tank that holds the water really isn't very big!

This is a fab toy and a must for young boys. My son is 6 and like most kids these days has all the standard toys. This is a bit different, interactive and lots of fun... he totally loves Screature!
