Could Bamboo be the future material for wooden toys?

Bamboo is now being used to make wooden toys

Educational Toy Company, Treasure Trove, has introduced a small range of Bamboo wooden toys, keenly priced between £5 and £10.

They are packaged in bright green boxes to highlight the appeal of bamboo as a strong and sustainable wood. Bamboo will re-grow at an amazing rate, and some varieties can be harvested every 4 years - this is at least five times quicker than the fastest growing softwood trees!

In tropical climates, Bamboo is used for elements of house building, bridges, decorative trinkets and food. The ongoing climate change debate challenges companies all over the world to invest in newer and greener products, and with this new and novel introduction, Bamboo will no longer just be seen as Panda food, or the preferred growing cane for gardeners.
