Founded by three Bachelors of Science - Richard Roth, Brian Klauber and Robert Klauber - Creative Toys LLC was set up in 2009 to "provide a sustainable and compelling suite of products for lifelong enjoyment and exploration."
The company has since trademarked the names Swivel-Snaps and Swivel-Blocks - products that they have described as "two viable construction toy alternatives". An article by Lutz Muller, (published in the October 2010 edition of TD Monthly) implied that this new "building block technology" could be a new entrant into the construction toy market; one that is still massively dominated by LEGO.
Muller went on to write in ToyNews that he was "taking seriously" the Swivel-Snaps and Swivel-Blocks technology which he described as being "unique". He also went on to report that these products "allow construction alternatives quite beyond any of the current players in the field".
