A Girl for All Time is online-only retailer founded in 2011 by Frances Cain. They are a small, London-based firm specialising in British historical dolls, novels, activity books and accessories which have been developed in response to a gap in the market for intelligent role-play toys for girls aged 6-years and over.
The range of dolls offered by A Girl for All Time are inspired by the historical periods taught in primary schools across the UK. They reflect eras already familiar to today’s school children such as Tudor, Victorian, WWII, Elizabethan, Restoration and Georgian. These periods are explored and beautifully recreated within the series, which follows the adventures of the first born girls in the fictional Marchmont family tree through 500 years of adventures and intrigue.
Alongside the dolls and novels are beautifully crafted, customizable keepsake books that bring the world of the dolls and novels to life with themed activities and adventures.

Exquisite doll and costumes

I'm in the USA, and had to have Matilda as soon as I saw her (I'm an adult doll collector). She arrived within three days of my order, amazing from the UK to the US. She's beautiful, very well constructed, with playable hair and very well-made clothing. Even her underthings are crafted with care. I'm very pleased with my purchase of Matilda, and can't wait for the next doll, Amelia.

My daughter was really thrilled with her novel and also the gorgeous keepsake book. I was extremely impressed by the quality and by how accessible it was. The novel kept her and her friends enthralled. So much so, that the Tudors have become a bit of an obsession!

The doll arrived exactly when they said it would and looked even better than in the pictures. My daughter (10) is delighted with Matilda. It is so wonderful to see her playing happily with such a lovely toy.

This is one of the most beautiful dolls that I have ever seen. She is well made with exquisite details. Her face has the most soulful expression. Her clothes are very well made, rich in details and accurate to the time period. Her hair is long and soft, almost like human hair.
