Founded in the USA in 1991, the Women In Toys (WIT) mission is to "provide a professional networking base for women working within the toy, entertainment and licensing industries and to acknowledge and promote the achievements of these women.”
As well as organising many events and conferences throughout the year, the annual ‘Wonder Women’ awards dinner is designed to recognise and celebrate the achievements of female WIT members during the preceding year.
Offshoot chapters of this group can be found in many other countries including Africa, Greece, Australia and China, with the British section headed up by Daughters Of History founder Frances Cain. Her plan is to create a networking group for UK based female leaders in the toy and licensing industry. Through this forum they can have regular meetings and events that address the issues that concern them the most.
By welcoming start-up companies into the WIT chapter, new business women have instant contact with like-minded and experienced professionals who are happy to share their business knowledge.
