Although probably best known as the home of the pork pie, Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire is also one of the protected homes of Stilton cheese. The historic town centre contains some great toy shops including Melton Toys, an independent Toymaster shop that offers superb ranges, excellent value and tremendous service. Located in of the town's oldest buildings, they sell toys from all the major brands like LEGO, Schleich and Playmobil.
Other privately owned Melton Mowbray-based toy shops include Kidzbitz in Bowley Court. Meanwhile, pregnant mums or parents with young children make for The Stork in the Bell Centre. This nursery shop sells wheeled items like prams and pushchairs, as well as a small selection of baby toys and children's clothing.
